During the reconstruction African-Americans were treated really bad. People did not respect the fact that African-Americans got the rights same as everyone. But still there was segregation which was changed thanks to the Civil Rights Movement. The segregation drove people to build different public areas for blacks and whites. So there was no people of different race going to the same public area.
The Civil Rights Movement got people to go together to the same public areas even if they were a different color. The whites did not like that so the started to attack the kids that are changing schools from all African-American to a white school. The black codes were abolished and the African-Americans got all their rights. Both during the reconstruction and the Civil Rights Movement black people were killed. But during the Civil Rights Movement important people that were trying to stop segregation were killed.
Thanks to the Civil Rights Movement we know can go to school with everyone. This allows us to learn from each other. Although it was hard to adjust during the Reconstruction and the Civil Rights Movements, now it is normal for everyone to have the same rights and have everyone share the same public areas. In the end blacks were treated horrible during the Reconstruction and the civil Rights Movement, but what they struggled through and fought for payed off in the end.
