you should torture the prisoners hard enough so that you can get the information you want. some short term results for mistreating the prisoners you go to jail for some time. long term affect you stop bombs from reaching the hands of people that will abuse the power of the bombs and kill Innocent people.
The Declaration of War over Germany
The U.S declared the war with a tone of superiority because I think the U.S was looking down on Germany because what I got from the words of the Declaration of war was that Germany is starting to grow with its imperialistic way and it is time to stop them and we will stop them. And with a little bitterness because the U.S was not happy that the Germans sunk the ship and sent the Zimmerman telegram to Mexico. the germans said you always wanted to be part of the alliance now you have what you wnat bring it on.

War Games
No, games that resemble wars should not be allowed to exist, because it shows violence that people would not like to be a part of in real life. Also the violence in the game does not resemble what goes on in a real war, it is not like your just trying to kill the enemy and see how many kills you get before you die, because if you die you don't just pop-up where you started with what ever gun you said you wanted beforer you died. I think when soilders go to war they are trying to stay a life and not kill people for the fun of it. Also games like that put an image in kids mind that if you were ever involved in a war you have to kill in order to survive which is wrong.War is not all about killing, it is about trying to make peace in a sense that the same thing will not happen again so people won't have to go through the samething over and over again.
Gallipoli
the causalities the happened in the war happened for many reasons. Like canons as seen in the clip after the narrator said "On these beaches"and "Britain and its allies prepare to end a world war". Also machine guns as seen after the narrator said "the films that were preserved". As well as rifles the were seen in the clip after the narrator said "Destiny".
Dogfight
The game was a bit hard to play. But I bet it was harder in real life. I think the the pilots of the air plain were scared out of their minds when they were in the air fighting. because if you just lose control for a second then you might crash, even worse when more than one plain and tank are attacking you.

"Toy Story 3"
Woody and his friends get sent to Sunyside Day care center by accident. Over there they meet a bear called Lots-O-Huggin'. He seemed nice at first but than he put them with the babies that break toys. When they tried to go to the big kids room Lots and his friends stopped them and tolled them that they only belong in the small kids room. Then he suppressed them in plastic drawers in a cabinet. Even when they tried to escape he had enough power to keep them inside the walls of the day car center. Also if you go against him you get put in the sand box for a night. Lots had the power to everything he wanted to. He even turned Buzz against his friends. This movie ties in with imperialism, because just like how counties suppress their territories; Lots did the same thing to the toys in the day care center. He also took away their power to fight back, as done to countries. Lots was a nice person at first, countries can be nice at first as well, but if the smaller country does not do as the bigger country wants bad things happen. Such as an attack to take over the country, or an annexation like the U.S did to Hawaii. But if you do not keep a tight hand on things; they can blow up in your face, just like they did in Lots's face.

West Indians
Survived another day. today we had to blow a hole in the mountain. it was terrifying. I almost got picked to be the one to set the dynamite. But a bad thing did happen I lost one of my friends that I was working with, when a mud slid happened and he got buried under the dirt. When we got to him it was too late. The funerary trains will arrive tomorrow morning and he will go with the other 500 that died with him or because of the diseases they have caught.

Cow Boys
Hollywood showed us that cow boys were the heroes and villain of the wild west. They made moves and TV shows about how the cow boys always shoots his gun to save the day. Also they showed how they would always have a bar fight over simple stuff. They made the villains own the town then a cow boy comes and frees everyone in the town. They tried to show that the cow boys were feared and respected at the same time.
The cow boys were drifters. But they moved from place to place in search of jobs. They took cattle from one place to another. They did due duels but it was not about something stupid it was because they had to settle a huge fight or argument. They traveled together. Some of their jobs were to wrangled, cooked, roped, and butchered cattle.
In the end cow boys did not just go around from town to town to start or end problems. They just wanted to survive the wild west by becoming cow boys. They might not have done the basic jobs like everyone but they did do extraordinary jobs. Some are heroes and some were just greedy and mean. cow boys were the heart of the wild west.

Discuss how were African-Americans treated during the Reconstruction and the Civil Rights Movement.
During the reconstruction African-Americans were treated really bad. People did not respect the fact that African-Americans got the rights same as everyone. But still there was segregation which was changed thanks to the Civil Rights Movement. The segregation drove people to build different public areas for blacks and whites. So there was no people of different race going to the same public area.
The Civil Rights Movement got people to go together to the same public areas even if they were a different color. The whites did not like that so the started to attack the kids that are changing schools from all African-American to a white school. The black codes were abolished and the African-Americans got all their rights. Both during the reconstruction and the Civil Rights Movement black people were killed. But during the Civil Rights Movement important people that were trying to stop segregation were killed.
Thanks to the Civil Rights Movement we know can go to school with everyone. This allows us to learn from each other. Although it was hard to adjust during the Reconstruction and the Civil Rights Movements, now it is normal for everyone to have the same rights and have everyone share the same public areas. In the end blacks were treated horrible during the Reconstruction and the civil Rights Movement, but what they struggled through and fought for payed off in the end.

Should countries leave pieces of their history out, especially that which is negative, when documenting these stories? Explain.
I think that the government should keep some history out so that the people don't think less about their country and don't feel ashamed because they are from that county.
Was your learning different when blogging, as compared to writing just pen and paper? Explain.
Yes my learning was different when blogging. Instead of just writing to your teacher to read you are writing to anyone who is going to read your blog, therefore you try to do your best in answering your question.
Which blogging topic was your favorite from first quarter?
my favorite blog topic was the six word story blog. it was my favorite because even though you only had to write six words you had to choose them carefully. also you had to do a lot of thinking about the story behind it for the words to make sense.
feelings and experiences of immigrants coming to the U.S
From what I saw in the pictures people only thought that they can come to the U.S and get a job quickly. I think that because the parents came with their entire family of 10. Also some people sent only their children thinking it is a better future for them. But when they got here they saw that things were not as easy as they thought. When they got here they had to find a place to live, Jobs for everyone that can work, and earn enough money to support their family before running out of food if they brought any.
"Song of the Shirt"
The life of these textile workers mush have been torture. They probably worked for 16 hours a day. They did not get much sleep, so they tried to stay up to show the bosses that they can finish all of their work so they can get a raise.

Oregon Trail
Through gaming people can get an idea of how real life is, like the Oregon Trail game. It show's you how moving from one place to another can be difficult if you are not prepared, even if it is in the same country. So if there were more games like that, that students are required to play for homework they would be ready to begin their independent life with out parents anytime they want. The games could be about buying, moving, selling, opening a business, ectetera.

What effect did Reconstruction have on former slaves? Were they better off after Reconstruction than they were before the Civil War?
The reconstruction had many effects on former slaves. first it gave former slaves all the rights that white people had. Second former slaves got more responsibility because now they had to make money to spend on their family and farm. I think that they had a better life as slaves because they had a free place to stay and free food instead of barley having food and paying the land owner for land to stay in and giving them most of their crops.
During Reconstruction there was great debate over whether the South should be granted amnesty. What are your thoughts? Defend your argument.
I think that it was a good idea that the south was granted amnesty because it told the people even though we went to war with each other we are still one nation and that we can forgive from each other from mistakes we done to each other like family members do.
Why was Abraham Lincoln's concern more focused on preserving the Union, rather than slavery?
From the beginning of the civil war Abraham Lincoln was more focused on preserving the union than slavery. This was because he knew that as two separate nations we can't do as much things as we can as one great nation which is now the United States of America.

"that government is best which governs least"
You can get many thoughts about what Thoreau meant by his quote. I think he meant that government that is more in contact with its people can become a great county with most of the people are supporting the government. I disagree with this quote because in order to run a stable country the government should let the people decide something but also should let some information away from the people so that if something unexpected were to happen the people won't go into panic and the government would handle the situation.

Does history matter?
History does matter. Because without history people would forget the past. And through the past we learn about our present and how we achieved it. and our history will show us that if we do not think about the future then we won't be able to guide it to a civilization beyond our imagination.
"History is the lie commonly agreed upon."
What Voltaire meant by that quote was that people lie about history. And people that read it belive it. The only people that would know it's a lie is the people who lied about it to make themselves look better in our history.
